Choosing the Best Skylight Shades
With all the options available with skylight shades, it's important to consider all of your needs prior to choosing one. Consider, for example, that many skylight shades come with motorized options that allow you to adjust your shade from anywhere in the room. Although this may be the perfect choice if you plan on frequently opening and closing your shade, you may opt for simpler control options if you plan on leaving it open or shut most of the time.
Your control options, of course, are partly determined by your choice in light control. Skylight shades come in a wide variety of light filtering and room darkening options, all of which allow you greater control over the natural light that enters your room. If you want total darkness, or the ability to drastically reduce natural sunlight at any time of day, you may want to install opaque room darkening shades. If you're looking to leave them shut most of the time but simply diffuse incoming bright sunlight, you may want to look into purchasing light filtering skylight shades.
In addition to control options and light, you'll also need to consider colors. Since most skylight shades are made by the same manufacturers of traditional cellular shades, you'll find a wide range of colors and textures that match almost any décor.
